Online Applications

Year 1 and Year 7 Central Applications, as well as General Applications are made through a ‘one formapplication system for ESF primary and secondary schools, including Discovery College. Parents may only submit one online application per child through the ESF website.

General applications for Discovery College

There are waitlists in all Primary Year Groups and the lower Secondary Year Groups (mainly Years 7 & 8) at Discovery College, and assessments / interviews for placement are dependent on places being available.

If you are applying for primary placement, the College strongly recommends that you consider a Nomination Rights.

A student has to be in the IB Diploma Programme / Career-related Programme (Years 12 & 13) for the full 2 years of the programme. There is some flexibility in the starting date, but apart from exceptional circumstances as determined by the College a student will not be able to start after 4 weeks from the start of the academic year.

Applications for Year 13 will be considered where a student has completed the first year of the DP or CP in another school. All cases will be examined on an individual basis, and the College reserves the right to accept or reject any application at its discretion, the final decision being that of the Principal. Applications for Year 13 will not be considered for students who have not completed the first year of the DP or CP.

Applications are valid for one academic year. Applicants on waiting lists at the end of the academic year may carry forward their waitlist position by reapplying for the following academic year. Parents will be contacted once a year to reconfirm their wish for their child to remain on the College’s waitlist.

International Baccalaureate’s website

The parents and/or legal guardians of prospective Discovery College students are strongly encouraged to visit the International Baccalaureate’s website www.ibo.org to familiarise themselves with the IB Curriculum (PYP, MYP, DP and CP). By proceeding with your application it is assumed by the College that you have read, understood these documents and are committed to an IB education for your child.
